Penny Kane FACCPH has worked with children in a school setting for 21 years, 14 of which has been as a School Counsellor in a West London Preparatory School.
She is a passionate advocate of improving children’s mental health and created The Hare That Cares to teach children how to regulate their emotions, encouraging them to check in regularly with themselves and help them understand that feelings can come and go. She practises the use of mindfulness and visualisation.
Penny has a Postgraduate Diploma in Child Counselling and Special Educational Needs, as well as receiving certificates for adults/children in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy/anger management.generalised anxiety disorder from the British Psychological Society. She has recently done training with Child Bereavement UK and volunteers for their family groups in West London and has worked with many families following bereavement. Penny has done her Mental Health First Aid/I-act training for both adults and children. Penny is a freelance ‘Well-Being Facilitator’ on film/TV sets and has recently worked on a documentatory about Borderline Personality Disorder with Fingerprint content. Penny specialist areas to work with are; anxiety, social anxiety, ptsd, family breakdown, bereavement, confidence & self-esteem work, stress during exams, friendships, challenges, facing fears, anger. Penny can also help children with ADD & ADHD. She works with children and adolescents 6yrs - 18 yrs.
